Sales Specialist
General Description:
The primary responsibility of the Sales Specialist is to help the customer get the products they need, when they want them, for a price that maximizes value for the customer and profits for the company.
Responsibility
- Provide product expertise to customers
- Guide customers to the right product to suit their needs
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure information is accurate and timely
- Ask a lot of questions to ensure they are getting what they need and not just what they are asking for
- Look for opportunities to up sell and cross sell items that will be helpful in their application or use
- Product isolation
- Find the most cost effective alternative that meets the customer’s needs
- Factor in transit time and freight cost into the total solution
- Exhaust all options before telling a customer something is not possible
- Pricing
- Accurately price the total package (product & freight) to maximize company profits while still getting the business and satisfying the customer.
- Collaborate with sales leaders and experienced co-workers to price big quotes
- Collaborate with and mentor fellow employees
- Help colleagues solve problems for customers in a creative and cost effective way
- Strive to improve sales techniques and processes and share results with co-workers
- Seize opportunities
- Always strive to find a solution for a customer even if it doesn’t seem probable
- Collaborate with fellow experts to brainstorm creative solutions for strange requests

Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years prior sales experience preferably working within the industrial supply or building materials industries
- Must possess the ability to learn quickly, manage a high volume of information, multi-task and have fun along the way
- A positive attitude and the desire to help others
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
- Must possess strong computer skills
- The ability to think creatively and work independently
