Q3 Think Big and Make it Happen Winner: Adam Shouse

2017 Q3 Think Big and Make it Happen Winner

Welcome back to our core value blog post series! Let’s hear what our Q3 2017 winner, Adam Shouse, has to say about Thinking Big and Making it Happen.

Tell me about opportunity at Clickstop.

Adam: Wow, where to begin? There are so many opportunities available for those who actively seek them. Clickstop has always supported and encouraged employees to pursue opportunities that present themselves. I have seen peers move into roles that they helped co-create as they saw an opportunity to make an impact, and went after it. Opportunities are available to everyone, but you have to be engaged and actively make progress towards making those opportunities a reality. Collaborate, ask questions, and good things will happen!

What is your favorite part about working at Clickstop?

Adam: The people- I truly believe we have unbelievable people working here. No matter what part of the building you are in, you see people giving max effort and taking such pride in what they do. The people here are really my extended family, and I would do anything for anyone here because I know they would do the same for me. When you put this many high performing individuals under one roof you are guaranteed to get the results desired. The cool part is we are still just getting started and great people will continue to be attracted to working here.

How do you relate to the core value: Think Big and Make it Happen?

Adam: To me, Think Big & Make it Happen means not just having ideas, but taking appropriate steps to ensure you put the idea into action. This requires you to collaborate with others in the building as they may have a unique skill set that can help you achieve the ideas you create. When I think about how we can be better for our customers on a daily basis it requires me to partner with other teams, but the cool part is in the end we are all here for the same reason, and that is to make sure our customers are our #1 priority. Don’t ever think an idea is “too big” at Clickstop. I truly believe we can do anything here, so don’t be afraid to tell someone the next great opportunity!

What advice do you give to others who want to embrace this core value?

Adam: The biggest piece of advice I have, is never feel like we have “arrived” as a company. There is so much more we can learn to be better, and the industry is always changing. Push yourself to learn something new each day, be curious, and ask questions. Think about what we can do to add value above and beyond our competitors that is unique and different. Think about how we can be better internally as a company, and externally for our customers daily. Even if it seems crazy at the time, we have had numerous big ideas become reality here. That is what will continue to set us apart from the competition- taking action on big ideas, and capitalizing on those opportunities.

What are your major goals at Clickstop? How are you going to make it happen?

Adam: My biggest goal is to be a true sales consultant for US Cargo Control. That is a multi-faceted goal. I am going to continue to learn about the industry and products that help our customers do their jobs safely and efficiently. I will get out in the industry and talk to the users and learn what they like, and make sure US Cargo Control continues to provide these items. I am going to read industry publications, attend seminars, and be involved in organizations in transportation. I am going to continue to work on my sales skills. There are always things to be improved upon when it comes to phone, email, or face-to-face selling. I am going to keep reading articles and get involved with sales training to be the best I can be for our customers.

If I do these things, and continue to learn, I will be the best I can be for our company and that will allow me to make a huge impact. I am going to bring my peers alongside me in this journey and we are going to all learn together so we can be an industry best team of sales consultants!
