2021 Q4 Communicate Winner: Keith Shaffer

Communicating isn’t just about being the person talking.

At the end of 2021, Keith Schaffer on our Technology Team was attentive, thoughtful, and responsive in his commitment to driving automation and efficiency at Clickstop. He took time to ask questions and draw out what he needed to better understand how he could assist our Sales & Service Team. The result? Keith helped reduce 30+ hours of manual work for that team! Now they can spend more time with our customers.

We took some time to talk with Keith after he received his award…

What are you most proud of from Q4?

The Technology and Sales & Service software automation and integration project was one of my more rewarding efforts at Clickstop. The collaboration and communication were only surpassed by the result. It really changed how our technology solutions worked so it led to many smaller projects to support the change. It isn’t every day we are all involved in a project this scale, and it was rewarding to see the teamwork!

What does the Clickstop Code mean to you?

It’s just the emphasis placed on it, which leads to reflection on your personal effort and mindset. This is a necessary step if you want to excel professionally, but it isn’t necessarily something that just happens. Self-reflection can be difficult. Awareness of your weaknesses is a big part of self-improvement. By prioritizing the code, it reinforces taking the time to gain that awareness and makes figuring out how to improve more manageable.

How do you want to challenge Clickstop in the coming year?

I want to continue pushing our organization to work even smarter. As a Technology Team, we are hungry to work smarter, be more efficient, more intelligent, and more responsive. We are a great team that works well together and we’re ready to solve any inefficiencies that resulted from the rapid growth of the organization and start thinking about HOW we work. Because everyone will benefit.

What advice do you have for people joining Clickstop?

Seek opportunity. This can be in the role you plan or in the job you do. You bring a unique set of skills and insights that provide a new vision to old processes. Find the place where your strengths will make the most impact. The second part of that…don’t be afraid to question how things are being done. Continually seek improvement that allows you to be more impactful.

Congratulations to Keith on this well-deserved recognition. We cannot wait to see the impact you make on Clickstop for the rest of 2022!

  • Episode 3, Revenge of the Sith. It is my favorite Star Wars, and I quite like Hayden as Darth Vader.

Describe yourself in a hashtag.
  • #Stealthy
What are three things you can’t live without?
  • Oxygen, water, and bacon.
What are you currently reading?
  • Blood and Thunder. I am obsessed with the frontier west and can’t get enough of the historical aspects of that time period.
What song can you listen to on repeat?
  • I am pretty eclectic. Grew up on The Smiths and Depeche Mode. I love some of the newer stuff my kids introduced me to like Nothing But Thieves and The Foals. But generally settle into a wheelhouse of Aldean, Church, and Stapleton. I am all over the board.
