Lisa Thompson Is Making A Difference By Asking Questions!

Curiosity drives improvement at Clickstop. This award is given to individuals who make a difference because of their questions and eagerness to learn and improve. Lisa is a behind-the-scenes difference-maker.

  • She’s a go-to person for research within our business software.
  • Her knowledge and expertise has been self-taught.
  • She has a natural curiosity, which has led her to continually question existing methods.
  • She digs in and proposes solutions, which directly translates into improvements on the finance team.

Her work on the Shopify+ transition, as well as in PayPal, has been critical to the successful launch of EcoFoil & Fasteners Plus, and is building to a successful launch for USCC on Shopify+. She has a unique ability to provide detailed, thorough instructions to help individuals understand not only how to do the task at hand, but also why the task at hand is important. This comes from a passion to help others learn it, to get it right, and make our processes better overall to save time. She has been instrumental in process development because she thinks of all possible outcomes before making a change and moves quickly from one task or project to the next without missing a beat. Lisa’s curiosity is driving people and processes to work more efficiently.

Well done, Lisa!

The Interview

What is your role at Clickstop?
Finance analyst

How long have you worked at Clickstop?
10+ years

What makes this recognition meaningful to you?
Curiosity is just a natural part of what I do every day. It’s nice to be recognized for what you do on a daily basis.

How are the behaviors within this Core Trait / Safety Award critical for our ongoing success?
I feel like all those traits just naturally fall within what I do. In finance, we need to be accurate, but we also need to be nimble. We need to be able to recognize when a process isn’t working and then evaluate how to make the process better. When things break/transactions aren’t posting the way they should on the income statement, quickly understanding what’s up and how to fix things is very important.

Within our Core Values, what is one area you are seeking growth? What difference will it make?
The core value I always have down to improve is “Promote a Winning Team Spirit.” In this time of working remotely, celebrating our team is important.

What should people know about working at Clickstop?
Working at Clickstop is fast-paced, can be a challenge and is super rewarding with the people and culture that we have.

Do you dance when no one is looking?
Yep. All the time.

You’re in the circus, would you rather be the person with their head inside the lion’s mouths or get shot out of the cannon?
Head in the lions mouth because four-legged creatures are my friends and I hate the idea of falling the distance out of a cannon.

What is one thing you loved as a child that today’s kids would know nothing about (ex. Walkman, Spirograph, Cabbage Patch Kids, etc.)
Paper dolls were my jam. New paper dolls for family vacations were the best….and they were probably cheaper than a new Barbie.

What is the silliest way you’ve been injured?
When I was about four, I stuck my tongue to a metal handrail at the apt. complex my family lived in. It was winter. My mom was inside the friend’s apt. for a while….I was literally stuck. They had to put warm water on my tongue to un-stick it from the handrail.

…OR we could go with me getting knocked in the head from our screen door.
