The Recognition & Results
Rhonda does just that. She is courageous in hard conversations, knowing they only make us better. She embraces the same from her teammates and uses it to grow. When it comes to applying courage to her work with Amazon, she approaches the unknown with the tools from the Founders Formula and our Core Values to get the results we are seeking. Her vision setting for the Amazon team and accountability of herself as well as others, has proven to drive success. She courageously outlines the risks, celebrates the successes as a team, and owns failure when needed. Learning from all of these things to drive growth. In Q1 Amazon for USCC grew 189% YoY. Yes, you heard that right – 189%! That moved us from $644K to roughly 1.86 million in revenue.
Way to go Rhonda!
The Interview:
What is your Role at Clickstop?
Online Marketplace Manager
How long have you worked here?
It will be 6 years in June
What makes this recognition meaningful to you?
Winning the Courageous award is especially meaningful for me, because that is one of the traits that I struggle with most. Knowing that others view me as Courageous is inspiring for me!
What is your most meaningful accomplishment from this past quarter?
The huge increase in Amazon sales and the impact that it is making for Clickstop. A huge shout out to Dan in Purchasing and the FBA Shipping team! We would not be hitting these numbers without all your hard work!
What is one area you are seeking growth? What difference will it make?
Within Courageous the bullet that I struggle with most is: “You contribute effectively outside your area of expertise.” I struggle with this, not because I don’t want to, but because I find it difficult to make extra time to be able to do this. There are so many things within the Amazon realm that I want to accomplish, it makes contributing elsewhere difficult. But it is something that I am cognizant of, and want to continue trying to make time for, because it will have a positive impact on other areas of Clickstop.
How have others supported your growth while at Clickstop?
Clickstop, and especially the USCC Marketing team, is full of amazingly supportive people! Matt has pushed me to think about what’s next and not get comfortable in the day to day. Sarah has been there for feedback and support. The rest of the team is willing to pitch in and help wherever needed! As mentioned before – the FBA team is supporting the huge growth that we are seeing through that channel of Amazon Sales! The Amazon Optimization team is supporting growth by helping increase SEO, Rankings and sales for items. So many people are supporting the growth!
Whether you’re working from home or onsite, what has been your biggest challenge navigating a new work environment? How have you sought to overcome that challenge?
Working Remotely has been a welcome change for me. I work best with minimal distractions, so I can stay laser focused. Working from home affords me more of that – until my dog gets hungry, then I have distractions! I would say the biggest challenge is missing interaction with people in the bistro and Grand Room when walking through the building. As a team we are trying to overcome that challenge by inviting guests from other teams to our weekly Friday Check In Meetings. It’s great to catch up with people we haven’t seen in a while!
Do you dance when no one is looking?
Yep, and even when people are watching. Life is too short not to have fun and be happy!
What’s the strangest food you’ve ever eaten?
I am not very adventurous with new foods – so I would say Calamari is probably the strangest. But I do remember a Thanksgiving dinner that I missed one time where my Grandma cooked Beef Tongue and passed it off as a roast to all my cousins! Pretty thankful I wasn’t there that day.
What is one thing you loved as a child that today’s kids would know nothing about (ex. Walkman, Spirograph, Cabbage Patch Kids, etc.)
The computer game “The Curse of Monkey Island” – best game ever! But they never did new versions of it – so unless you have a dinosaur computer, you can’t play it anymore… so sad!
What is the silliest way you’ve been injured?
First day of 5th grade I fell off the monkey bars and broke my arm.
What’s your worst bug-related story?
When I was probably 5 or so, I went screaming into my mom’s room in the middle of the night because a spider bit my toe. My mom swears it was a dream, but it still seems real to me. To this day I am terrified of spiders.
