Cara Creates Consistency with Courage

Cara was the owner of the US Cargo Control new product development key rock in 2020. This challenged her to grow in both how she works and the work she does. Setting out to get better at setting expectations and holding team members accountable, she rose to the challenge, didn’t let obstacles get in the way and brought the project to a successful 2020 finish.

Let’s talk KPIs! 2020 finished with $672K in new product revenue. That’s a lot of revenue! Not to mention that it is a revenue that will continue to grow.

Q4 was rounded out with a new program that one of our vendors launched. This program allows users to monitor the weight of loads through tension and compression, has already done 5 figures in sales, and is likely to do 6 figures in 2021. It was a difficult project that required getting A LOT of details right. Cara stayed organized and brought it all together for a successful launch into a whole new product line. A line that is highly relevant to the qualified business we want to attract and retain.

Way to go Cara!

Interview

What is your role at Clickstop?
Category Manager

How long have you worked at Clickstop?
Just shy of 4 years

What makes this recognition meaningful to you?
I’ve been working to step outside of my comfort zone, ask the hard questions, and take educated risks. It’s been great to see the ripple effects as this continues to pay off.

How are the behaviors within this Core Trait / Safety Award critical for our ongoing success?
Our growth is dependent on critical thinking and people being courageous to do the right thing, even if it is difficult. Questioning behaviors, driving progress, and providing feedback are critical for us all to help each other grow.

Within our Core Values, what is one area you are seeking growth? What difference will it make?
I’m continuing to work on communication. Many of the other core values can live inside your head but communicate is the one that connects them all together with others.

What should people know about working at Clickstop?
Your career is what you make it – be a critical thinker, set goals, and drive impact.

Do you dance when no one is looking?
Well, I definitely don’t if someone IS looking.

If you had 5 million dollars tomorrow, how would you spend the rest of your life?
Whatever the heck I wanted! Maybe invest in a Trader Joe’s…

If you could ask your pet 3 questions, what would they be?

  1. Why are you barking?
  2. Why are you still barking?
  3. Could you quit barking please?

What do you dislike but have no good reason for disliking?
Pyramid Schemes. Actually, there is a completely valid reason to dislike those.
