Creating Opportunities with Curiosity

Curiosity drives improvement at Clickstop. This award is given to individuals who make a difference because of their questions and eagerness to learn and improve.

The Recognition & Results

In Q1 of 2021, Christine stood out to her peers as someone that was genuinely curious. She was regularly looking for ways to improve and contribute at higher levels in her work.

She challenged herself to ask clarifying questions with the goal of creating great impact. This led to great results for Pepper Joes as she gathered keyword data for new products while reviewing existing items to ensure they were set up for searching success. In social media, she created consistency for communication within brands by reaching out to Customer Service leaders to ensure alignment.

She is self-proclaimed to be a bit clumsy, and that doesn’t bother us a bit. 🙂 We are proud to have her on Team Clickstop!

Way to go Christine!

 The Interview

What is your role at Clickstop?
Marketing Coordinator

How long have you worked here?
2 years at the end of May!

What makes this recognition meaningful to you?
This recognition means a whole lot to me! Since starting my career at Clickstop, it’s been my goal to strengthen my curiosity because I wanted to stop being hesitant to speak up and ask questions. I don’t want to back down from a challenge, so I’m always looking for ways to help increase impact and opportunities for our business

What is your most meaningful accomplishment from this past quarter?
From this past quarter, I was responsible for our brands’ social media audits where I was to find what social media platforms our brands should be on, or what opportunities we may be missing (i.e. Clean Laundry could be on LinkedIn to attract new investors, and Pepper Joe’s could be on TikTok to attract adventurous heat lovers who love hot peppers and to cook). This was a great learning experience for me. Part of my role is social management for USCC and Pepper Joe’s, so taking the extra time to open my eyes and be curious, look for alternative solutions, and find ways to improve my work was impactful.

What is the one area you are seeking growth? What difference will it make?
The core trait Strategic, is one that I’m working on improving. This is defined as finding and using hard data and facts to validate theories before making recommendations. I just started allocating 20 hours of my time with USCC to support market research and find new opportunities that we could be doing in Amazon.  Learning in this area will be critical to the work I am doing for USCC.

How have others supported your growth while at Clickstop?
Oh gosh, everybody is supportive and enthusiastic while still pushing each other to be our absolute best. I always had an interest in marketing when I was in college. From day one at Clickstop, I learned so much (and still do) from the marketing team and it was amazing that they were willing to take a few minutes of their time to teach me or help me with a question I may have. Shoutout to Marissa B. because our desks were next to each other when I started my new role and no matter how many questions I had, she was there to help me out! Plus, she never fails to have a great recommendation for murder mystery shows/movies.

Also, Krystal has always been supportive of my growth and development, and I know I can come to her if I’m stuck on something. I don’t think I would be where I am now without her support and needed hard-hitting questions!

Whether you’re working from home or onsite, what has been your biggest challenge navigating a new work environment? How have you sought to overcome that challenge?
I enjoy interacting with everyone in person, so it was pretty strange talking in front of a computer screen! Strangely over time, it was nice being at home so I can focus on my important work without any distractions but it can be very easy to be in your own bubble. I try to make sure to facetime my family, message one of my teammates, or make plans with some friends just to catch up with them. (Or I go check up on my boyfriend and tell him the worst dad jokes).

What is the coolest/craziest place you’ve ever visited?
The Uffizi Museum in Florence, Italy was absolutely awesome and stunning. I am secretly a huge geek for art and art history, so being able to see so many historical art pieces that I studied and read about made it really difficult for me to be calm.

What is your favorite activity that you do with your family?
Playing CORNHOLE (we call it cornhole in Florida, not bags – sorry y’all) with my family with a few craft beers that we find from breweries in Jacksonville.

What’s something you get wrong almost every time you do it?
When the door says to push or pull but I don’t pay attention to the rules

What do you dislike but have no good reason for disliking?
I really dislike UCONN women’s basketball but I honestly have no good reason to dislike them because they have a very successful program. It was a great thing Mississippi State women’s basketball beat them in a buzzer-beater in 2017 to advance in the final two of the National Championship which was the first time in history 🙂
