We received nearly 30 nominations for this award in Q4. This is a strong indication of all the hard work leading to measurable results happening around the business, and also made it even tougher to select a winner. But there was one clear stand-out who has tackled something that we’ve tried to get off the ground for years and is making a big impact by making it happen.
Dane has had a large impact on what we are doing in production and how we do it. For example, we have had the big idea of producing slings in house for years and, thanks to Dane, we are finally making it happen. He has been creating processes to support our new web slings capability, and is mentoring others as he goes. He helped design and layout the area and get the new equipment installed and setup, and was one of the first to figure out how to use it.
He looks at things objectively and asks great questions to understand the root issue before trying to push solutions forward. While he has been focusing the majority of his time working in slings he never took his focus off other responsibilities such as CoC completion, customer surveys, supplier scorecards, and more. Without Dane’s help it’s hard to believe we’d be anywhere close to where we are with our ability to build web slings and have confidence for standards and regulations we are following. While running the sewing machines and other equipment is one thing, Dane also has hours of time invested in reading through WSTDA and AWRF standards to ensure the product built here will meet all industry standards.
The production of slings will become a highly profitable revenue stream for US Cargo Control for many years to come and Dane has played a huge role in bringing it to life. Thank you for all your hard work, Dane!
