Enthusiasm is essential in creating an environment where team spirit and greatness are alive and well.
Team members we recognize for this trait tend to be those who bring energy, creativity and an “others” focus. They possess a desire to grow and encourage their co-workers to do the same. This pursuit breeds trust, leading to optimism about sustained success.
As employee owners, enthusiasm counts internally in creating momentum and energy and counts again as we reach outside our walls to work with customers and vendors. The creation of a great customer experience externally, begins with a great experience of meeting and exceeding expectations internally.
An Infectious Attitude
Our Q1 2019 winner of the “Enthusiastic Award” is Heather Hansen.
Heather possesses an infectious attitude that has led to an immediate positive impact in her new role as a Service Specialist for US Cargo Control. As we examined the action statements in the code, it was specifically discussed how her enthusiasm is bringing both our manufacturing and USCC service team into greater alignment to fulfill our brand promise – getting customers what they want, when they need it.
A peer in the marketing department stated, “She is great at both collaboration and cultivating relationships with others outside her own team. Heather knew she wanted to make a change at Clickstop and she was able to both recognize an opportunity and take ownership. “
A Culture of Ownership
Thanks for inspiring us with your expectation of excellence and belief and trust in your coworkers.
As employee owners, we know that enthusiasm is a force multiplier (creates momentum and impact for others) and force multipliers impact our business performance. A culture of ownership is a culture of enthusiasm. You are positively impacting our future as an ESOP. Keep it up!
The Interview
What is your role at Clickstop?
Service and Solutions Specialist
How long have you worked at Clickstop?
3 ½ years
How did you feel upon being recognized for this award?
Incredibly grateful! Honestly, I was so overwhelmed with excitement, that I didn’t even register what was being said to me. I feel very lucky for winning the “Enthusiastic” award.
What do you believe has led up to this recognition?
I’ve always wanted to have sales and service shadow MFG and vice versa so we all have a mutual understanding of how hard each team works. I started a shadow program to allow the sales and service team to spend an hour out in manufacturing and hope one day to get the manufacturing employees out to shadow sales and service. I’m very excited about how many people signed up and are willing to learn more about the company.
Have you had struggles within this Core Trait? If so, what have they been and how did you overcome them?
I think everybody struggles with some of these traits at some point in the day/week/month, but I also believe everyone here is very good about being humble and learning to grow and overcome these obstacles.
Why is this Core Trait important to the success of Clickstop?
I think Norman Vincent Peale says it best, “Enthusiasm releases the drive to carry you over obstacles and adds significance to all you do.”
What can we find you doing when you’re not at work?
Probably picking up dinosaurs or refilling sippy cups.
What brought you to Clickstop?
Rachel Neve! I started dating her brother (whom I am now married to) and I remember one of the first times I hung out with her, she was just getting back from her honey moon and her coworkers filled her desked with a globe of packing peanuts. I remember thinking I really wanted to work at such a fun place. Here I am!
What keeps you at Clickstop?
The free bananas and coffee. Just kidding! Although that is super nice, I really truly enjoy all the people who work here. They make everyday fun. I enjoy the opportunities they let you run with, how understanding people are when I have to stay home with sick kids and just all the benefits the company gives us.
If you could live in any period of history when would it be and why?
I would totally live in the time of the Vikings. The women played just as an important role as men. They were strong, influential, and willing to fight. Plus, they just look super cool!
What TV / Netflix Show currently has your attention?
Psh- easy. Game of Thrones!
What fictional place would you most like to go?
Pandora from Avatar.
