Q1 2019 Opportunistic Award Winner: Krystal Talbert

Krystal Talbert - 2019 Q1 Opportunistic Award

Clickstop possesses an entrepreneurial mindset that is fueled by the Values we hold.  In other words, we focus on the innovation and development of our business through a relentless commitment to our values.

One of the traits in alignment with our values is that of being opportunistic.

Defining Opportunistic

To be opportunistic is to be proactive is to recognize when opportunities occur and take ownership to move toward them.  The speed at which they can be pursued is impacted by the willingness to speak to what’s been recognized, even when it’s not fully understood.

This proactive communication leads to collaboration and quick adaptation to changes that will come because of the pursuit.

As employee owners looking to grow our company in value and in efficiency, it’s critical that we are willing to go out on a limb and to try something different, even if challenging.

Embodying the Trait

Krystal Talbert embodies this trait with her willingness to jump in, streamline processes, and to prepare us for what’s next.

She entered the digital marketing role after three years in BI.  It was an opportunistic move to tackle a new challenge, to which she quickly adapted.  She proactively seized opportunities to learn new skills, cultivating new relationships along the way.

Throughout Q1, she recognized many projects as opportunities and took ownership: rebuilding the Leverage Printing website, filling gaps in account management so Leverage clients always felt taken care of, and recently accepted a role as the full time Account Manager for Leverage Marketing!

In being opportunistic, Krystal has minimized complexity by streamlining kick off meetings and proactively sharing information with the entire team. She keeps us all looking forward.

Well done, Krystal.  Your commitment to how we work and the work we do makes you an incredible asset to the marketing team and Team Clickstop!

The Interview

What is your role at Clickstop?

Account Manager for Leverage Marketing

How long have you worked at Clickstop?

3 years

How did you feel upon being recognized for this award?

Excited and honored – It made me want to buffalo across the grand room.

What do you believe has led up to this recognition? (What behaviors have you demonstrated?)

Over the past year, I have been presented with and actively sought out new opportunities here at Clickstop. I have led and contributed to projects that were outside of my comfort zone, learned new skills, and transitioned into roles that are better aligned with my strengths.

Have you had struggles within this Core Trait?  If so, what have they been and how did you overcome them?

The part of being Opportunistic that I find the most challenging is staying nimble and minimizing complexity. Especially given that Leverage Marketing is still so new, there is a lot of opportunity for streamlining the way that we work internally and how we coordinate this work with our clients. It is fun and rewarding to be able to change and influence how we’re getting work done!

Why is this Core Trait important to the success of Clickstop?

Being opportunistic is critical to the way we do business. Quickly adapting to trends in the market and being nimble even as a bigger company has contributed to our years of success.

What can we find you doing when you’re not at work?

Hanging out with my two kiddos, catching up on the lives of Real Housewives, and out golfing if it is summertime!

What brought you to Clickstop?

There wasn’t a specific position or opening, but I had heard great things about the company and wanted to be a part of it. I sent in my resume and hoped for the best. When the time was right for Clickstop, I had the chance at an interview and eventually became part of the team.

What keeps you at Clickstop?

The people – I get to work amongst the best. The Clickstop team works hard, challenges me to be a better version of myself, and has a lot of fun along the way.

If you could live in any period of history when would it be and why?

My heart belongs to the 1980s. I love the music, the clothes, the hair. I know there are much more significant and interesting points in history, but I can’t help myself.

What TV / Netflix Show currently has your attention?

Game of Thrones, obviously.

What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

I would travel more. Time and money are really the only things getting in the way of me traveling the globe.
