Each day we head to work, we go with the belief that we will return at the end of the day in the same condition as when we left. We trust in the safety of our environment and in the commitment of the people around us to do things safely as well.
There are those special individuals who consistently prioritize the safety of themselves and others, and who help make sure we make it back home to our loved ones without injury.
Jenny Rapp is one such person.
Keeping A Lookout
Jenny is always watching out for her team to ensure safe practices. As the Manufacturing team was working to fulfill a large contract order, she took note of the way people were twisting & turning during packing. The quantity of items to be produced, combined with the repetition of movement was exposing the team to safety risks in the wrist, shoulder, and back.
She asked if there was more that could be done.
As a result, we had our insurance provider onsite to show stretching techniques to improve flexibility and reduce the chances of injuries. Jenny continues to be a cheerleader for pre-shift stretching.
Jenny has also done a great job of continually looking for ways to improve safety by understanding risk factors. When safety risk was high, she increased awareness by notifying the safety and Warehouse teams that pallets stacked by the supplier could fall and cause serious injury. Additionally, Jenny looked at where the safety risk is lower and requested a reevaluation by the safety team to ensure not wearing safety glasses in the desk area would be in compliance with OSHA regulations.
A huge thank you to Jenny Rapp for ensuring our coworkers and friends make it home safely every day.
The Interview
What is your role at Clickstop?
My role is the runner/support team lead in MFG.
How long have you worked at Clickstop?
I’ve been here for 4 years.
How did you feel upon being recognized for this award?
It was nice to be recognized for this award because I truly care for everyone here and their safety and try to do my part to keep everyone safe.
What do you believe has led up to this recognition?
I’ve been a safety pirate since the beginning of that program. I keep myself aware of what is going on in our manufacturing space so I can fix things I am able to or contact those who can. I am vocal about concerns the MFG team and myself have. I also make sure to check the eye wash stations every week to make sure they are running properly.
Why is this Core Trait important to the success of Clickstop?
Without safety we would not be able to do our jobs successfully. We need everyone to be safe and healthy to work at 100%.
What can we find you doing when you’re not at work?
I’m either at one of my boys’ ballgames or washing baseball pants! No, seriously, if I’m not at one of their games and it’s a weekend you’ll find me cleaning, napping 😊 or sitting in the backyard in the sun listening to music and enjoying a drink with my boyfriend, Paul.
What brought you to Clickstop?
Clickstop was a great fit for me when I was looking to do something enjoyable that also allowed me to spend more time with my 3 sons.
What keeps you at Clickstop?
The people! I love what I do here and the great people I get to work with. The culture here is like nowhere else. I feel very lucky to be a part of Clickstop.
What TV / Netflix Show currently has your attention?
Right now, I am watching Veep and Barry on HBO.
What’s a movie you can practically quote from start to finish?
I don’t know if I am close to quoting a whole movie but lines I use often are from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest: “Play the Game” and from Dazed and Confused: “Check ya later.” They both make me laugh.
What book do you most remember from your childhood?
I always thought Corduroy was an adorable book and still do.
