The Art of the Objective Decision
Separating the "Now" from the "Later" to drive results
Working hard is one thing
Working with intent is next level.
Our Decisive core trait isn’t about making fast choices; it’s about the ability to objectively evaluate a situation, articulate a clear path forward, and separate what must be done well today from what can be improved tomorrow.
In Q1, one individual caught our Leadership Team’s eye for his ability to bring clarity to some of our most complex technical challenges…
Yadiel Johnson, simply known as Johnson.
Making the Complex Decisions Feel Simple

More recently, Johnson was tasked with navigating the integration of our performance management data into our data warehouse.
In his first meeting with our Engagement Team, Johnson didn’t just talk about tools; he spoke to the sustainability of our business functions. He presented the risks of different AI engines and helped everyone in the conversation understand how to build for the future while meeting immediate needs.
By recommending a “do both” approach—addressing immediate data needs while preparing for future AI capabilities—Johnson ensured that we can now tie business results directly to employee engagement. This allows us to better understand what contributes to our success and how to inform our future strategies.
“[Johnson], your knowledge helped make tough decisions feel simple because they were objective and well-informed. I left the meeting feeling more excited about the future and confident that we have the expertise to seize the opportunities in front of us.”
— Jeremy Meyer, VP of Employee Engagement
Beyond the Code: A Strategic Partner
Being decisive also means wisely articulating what you are trying to do. If you can’t bring people along and gain buy-in, you may come across as a bull in a china shop.
Johnson proved this during a recent collaboration with our Freight team. Freight data is notoriously intricate, and accurate data is critical for managing our expenses. On top of executing a technical request, he asked deep questions to ensure he understood the business dynamics, helping guide his peers on how to navigate these tools in the future.
The result?
Complete data that gives Clickstop leverage in negotiations. This strategic work directly reduces our freight expenses and allows us to manage contracts with a level of precision we didn’t have before.
In Q1 and beyond, Johnson has embodied the behaviors of a Decisive employee-owner:
- He acted objectively regarding business and tactics.
- He inspired greatness by teaching his peers as he worked.
- He focused on impact and ensured his work resulted in a meaningful future for the company.
Congratulations, Johnson, on being our Q1 Decisive Core Trait Award Winner!
Where Ownership Meets Opportunity
If you are a job seeker looking at Clickstop, Johnson’s story should inspire you.
It shows that here, your voice matters from day one (considering day one for Johnson was only 10 months ago!) You aren’t quieted because you’re new; you are in the room, helping us make decisions that re-imagine our future.
