Leadership that Elevates Everyone
Most people know the feeling of being busy. Meetings happen. Projects move. Deadlines get met. But something is missing. For Marissa Bunce, who leads Clickstop’s US Cargo Control brand, she knew there was more to being a leader and was curious about discovering new ways to support her team. She cared deeply about them and yet could see an opportunity to create more clarity, alignment with the bigger picture, and a greater sense of ownership in how they worked together.
At Clickstop, employees have access to structured development opportunities like Leadership Foundations, a program designed to support employees in building skills that inform their approach to leadership, organizing their work, and creating a lasting impact across their teams. We know that if you want to care for your people, you invest in the managers who support them every single day. That is why we are rolling out our new Leadership Foundations program to every leader in the company.
Learning Through Leadership Foundations
When Marissa was selected for our initial cohort, she recognized that sharpening her own leadership was actually an investment in her team, unlocking new potential for everyone around her. The program supported conversations about leading people, taught communication techniques, and challenged her to have more organic conversations with her team about what felt unclear, what was missing, and what kind of support they needed from her.
Putting New Leadership Skills Into Practice
In those conversations, Marissa did more than gather feedback. She made the courageous choice to look closely at her own assumptions and admit that what felt obvious to her was not always clear to her team. That kind of reflection is rarely comfortable, but it became a turning point in her growth as a leader. Her team wanted more dialogue—not just about the work, but about the purpose behind it and how their contributions connected to the company. Hearing that helped her recognize what was missing and nurture a more intentional way of leading—one rooted less in assuming alignment and more in nurturing space for clarity, conversation, and shared understanding in every interaction. Following the program, she has continued putting that learning into practice by asking more thoughtful questions, inviting her team into the bigger picture, and building an environment where engagement can grow.
“I feel stronger in my approach – less about having the answers and more about empowering my team to arrive there through thoughtful questions and creating space and environments for them to be engaged in the work, the team, the company, etc.”
– Marissa Bunce, US Cargo Control Brand Leader
The Impact of Investing in People
This is what growth looks like in practice at Clickstop: getting curious, taking action, listening to feedback, and adjusting how you lead. The result is not just better leadership in theory. It is leadership that people can feel in the way the team works together, and be encouraged to engage in as well.
“Marissa has started weaving Clickstop’s core pillars and CSFs (Critical Success Factors) into everyday conversations, which has helped reinforce those values across the team in a more natural, consistent way. We’ve always celebrated wins, but now there’s a bigger emphasis on recognizing the effort and contributions of others, which has been great for team morale. She’s also made an effort to strengthen the sense of community within our remote team through fun challenges and more casual open discussions.”
-Annie Schwartz, Marissa’s Team Member
Clickstop’s decision to invest in its people is not just a nice-to-have; it is a commitment that has been developed, practiced, and strengthened over time. We know when people are given the tools and support to grow, they- along with their teams – feel the difference.
