Q2 Core Value Award: Rhonda Giebelstein

Think Big and Make It Happen

The Story

There’s a smile behind every greeting from Rhonda Giebelstein.  It’s a refreshing take to encounter someone who considers the possibilities that each new day brings.  There are opportunities on the horizon and they’re worth getting excited about.  Rhonda is certainly one of these people.  She’s positive, enthusiastic, bold, driven and tireless.  When she sings, birds gather in her chorus…or so I imagine.

Rhonda isn’t out of touch with reality when she considers the possibilities.  Clickstop seeks adventure, and adventure seekers find Clickstop.  Growth isn’t happening without those who think beyond what’s comfortable.  Rhonda pressed into discomfort and has pursued opportunities to grow the business through a new and unfamiliar role.  Having begun on the Customer Service team for US Cargo Control, she now runs our 3rd party channels through Leverage Marketing.  With her at the helm, we have enjoyed a tremendous growth in revenue.

There are certainly tough times that she has faced, but she maintains optimism and doesn’t become paralyzed at the risks, nor does she back down because of the challenge.  The challenge is motivating because of what it produces regardless of success or failure.  Keep moving forward.  Think big.

The Interview

What is your role at Clickstop?

Online Marketplace Strategist.  I focus on selling items through 3rd party marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart.com, eBay, etc.

How long have you worked here?

3 Years

What is your Clickstop story? If it were a book, what would the title be and why?

“The Name of the Game is Customer Service!” I started on the customer service team for USCC 3 years ago, because that is where my strengths and interest align.  An opportunity to focus on selling through 3rd party channels came open and I jumped on it!  Stellar customer service is required in all selling, but it is especially hard online with no direct customer interactions.

How do you relate to this core value?

The best ideas come from the people within our walls.  To keep growing and moving forward, we have to keep Thinking Big about the future and all the possibilities that it holds.  Then work to Make It Happen by identifying those opportunities and being decisive and strategic in the plan that will take us there!

What advice would you give to others who want to embrace this core value?

Think outside the box.  Your idea might just be the next BIG one!  If it doesn’t work out, fail fast, learn from the mistake and move on to the next idea!  Do not let it discourage you!

What are you most excited for or proud of on your team?

The marketing team is a group of incredibly talented people, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it!  I am excited daily to see the amazing amounts of quality work this team accomplishes.

What was the best compliment you’ve ever received at work?

A few months after I started, Tim G. came over to my desk and complimented me on my customer communication skills.  He was impressed with the way that I talked to customers on the phone and resolved issues. I came from a world where the “Boss” rarely complimented or acknowledged a job well done, and here I was getting a compliment from the CEO.  I will never forget that day!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?

It is OK to be wrong.  We are all human and make mistakes.  Learn from it and keep moving forward.

What can we find you doing when you’re not at work?

Hanging out with my dog, Jake.

Last movie or book you watched/read?

Movie: Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom
