Dane Denker is our Q4 'Opportunistic' Award Winner!
A challenge is an activity created by a set of circumstances. Though we may not be in control of the circumstances that present the challenge, there are always aspects of the circumstances that we do have the power to effect. Therefore, every challenge presents opportunity. Or said another way, we can always do something within every set of circumstances.
Think about it. Physical limitations or restraints can’t prevent the mind from operating. There may be physical walls limiting my movement, but my mind can approach the limitations in various ways. Panic. Sadness. Curiosity. Hope. Regardless of the choice we make, the possibilities of thinking differently are still present.
The moment a challenge arises, opportunity exists.
At Clickstop, we reflect on the past to learn and grow, but we hold the expectation of ourselves and our co-workers that we won’t stay in reflection mode. When a challenge arises, it’s okay to consider the events that led to its arrival. But there is a point of diminishing return where the reflecting turns into stagnation and deteriorating performance.
Consider Dane Denker’s journey this past quarter. Changes were occurring to the Quality & Safety team that were out of his control. The changes brought a challenge, and though questions remained, he took action to grow and improve himself and the team where he could. And as he went, continued to gather more information through collaboration and proactive communication.
The opportunity to fall back, stop or move forward all existed at the same time. Dane chose to keep moving forward through regular challenges, and positively impacted our business through things like improved Tie-Down Production procedures and the identification of a new testing site that resulted in a significant cost reduction for Clickstop.

It pushes me to keep looking for ways to make an impact.
What do you believe has led up to this recognition?
Teamwork! Proactively collaborating with other departments, owning my work and responsibilities and driving them to action and results.
What are ways you’ve challenged yourself to live out and grow within the Core Values?
One way I am currently challenging myself is in the “Be adventurous embrace and drive change” value. My role has seen a lot of change over the past 6 months, taking this change and not just making the best of it but taking this change as an opportunity to drive these departments to a better place and have a positive impact on the company.
How do you ensure your work is aligning with our mission, values, strategies and goals?
- I ask a lot of questions for clarification and understanding.
- Open communication with my supervisor and team.
- Prioritize the work so the most important/impactful things are being addressed.
Why is this Core Trait important to the success of Clickstop?
Being opportunistic is a driver for how we work. At Clickstop we work together, adapt to change, keep it simple, recognize opportunity and take it. Without this at the core to who we are and how we work we wouldn’t be the company we are today.
What brought you to Clickstop?
I had just moved back into the country (my Wife and I Lived in Mexico for 4 years) and needed a job. Jeremy recommend I check it out here – obviously I did – and here we are 4 years later.
What keeps you at Clickstop?
I really enjoy what I do and the people I get to work with.
Why should others want to work at Clickstop?
It’s a fun environment with the freedom to own the work and drive success.
If you had to pick one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza. Pepperoni and pineapple. Yes, I put pineapple on pizza and I love every bite of it.
If you had 5 million dollars tomorrow, how would you spend the rest of your life?
In a small cabin on a large piece of land.
Do you have any superstitions?
I’m not superstitious but I am a little stitious (if you know, you know)
