Alex Ledger is our Q1 Communicate Award Winner and a Fan of Knight Rider.
Great communication requires patience, humility, courage and objectivity. Each of these ties into taking time to listen and ask thoughtful questions. It leads to seeking understanding, and not letting emotions re-prioritize what’s most meaningful in the dialogue. And when clarity is lacking, asking a question or seeking the advice of another helps identify the best solution to challenges.
Ask the Necessary Questions
As you might expect, these qualities are present in our Q2 Communicate award winner, Alex Ledger. He serves as a Business Development Consultant for our US Cargo Control brand. He’s an excellent listener and respectfully asks thoughtful questions, even in stressful situations. And when he recognizes that someone may be unwilling to say the hard thing, he will pursue it for the sake of identifying the right solution to challenges.
This past quarter, there were structure changes to his team. As the team went through the changes, he sought further understanding of how he and his team could improve to create better results going forward. He’s leading the continued growth of our team through his communication.

What brought you to Clickstop?
I had read about how awesome Clickstop was in the Corridor Business Journal, and I wanted to be a part of an awesome company. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made!
What effect has this recognition had upon you?
I’m proud to work on the USCC Sales Team. We have a great group that really enjoys working together, and I’m so grateful to be a part of this team. Getting recognized like this feels good and makes me want to work harder to recognize others. My son is 12, and he was really interested to hear about why I was recognized. He and I spent some time going through the Clickstop Code together which was really fun.
Why is this Core Trait important to the success of Clickstop?
Good communication is so important in building trust and strong relationships, and strong relationships with customers and teammates are probably the most important things to the success of Clickstop.
What do you believe has led up to this recognition?
Being respectful and being a good listener. Caring about other’s point of view and wanting to understand where they’re coming from. Asking questions that others might not ask, in a respectful way.
What are ways you’ve challenged yourself to live out and grow within the Core Values?
I guess I don’t think I’ve consciously challenged myself, but I do consciously look at and think about the Code. I think the Code has helped me be more mindful of how important empathy towards others is, and how delivering and receiving genuine feedback in a humble way is so important.
How do you ensure your work is aligning with our mission, values, strategies and goals?
Reading the Code and discussing it with others and finding ways to apply it in how I work each day.
What inspires you about the work of your team members?
I’m inspired when people on the team show genuine humility and go out of their way to help a teammate.
What should people know about working at Clickstop?
Clickstop is a company full of all-stars. We have caring, genuine, hard-working, humble, and smart people is every area of the company. We have a drive to win, and I love working here!
If you had to pick one food to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Pizza
What is one thing you loved as a child that today’s kids would know nothing about?
The original Knight Rider.
What is your favorite activity that you like to do with your family?
We really like hiking and playing golf together.
If you could never have to do one chore for the rest of life, what would it be?
Shoveling snow, without a doubt.
