Life at Clickstop: Adam Shouse and his IMTA Leadership Experience

We all seek meaningful opportunities.

Adam Shouse is no different.

As a Business Development Consultant for Clickstop’s US Cargo Control (USCC) brand, he was looking for ways to develop his knowledge and involvement in the trucking industry so he could better serve his customers. While networking with his peers in the industry, he kept hearing about the Iowa Motor Truck Association (IMTA) Leadership Forum.

Their positive experiences stuck with him.

When the opportunity arose to become a member of the IMTA Leadership Class of 2022, Adam jumped at the chance. “I’d been interested in the IMTA Leadership Forum for a while,” said Adam. “As a newer member of this industry, it’s a great opportunity to build peer-to-peer networks and learn ways to be more involved in the trucking industry.”

Throughout the Leadership Forum, Adam will attend four sessions alongside a variety of professionals from across Iowa. Each session’s agenda is intentionally developed to grow these industry professionals into the next generation of advocates and leaders in the industry.

“While I’ve only been to two sessions so far,” said Adam, “this is by far the best thing I’ve done for my development in the trucking industry.”

During the first session, the agenda focused on how to advocate for issues by visiting the Capitol in Des Moines. That process surprised Adam. The grind, commitment, and collaboration that is required to stand up for issues that impact the industry really stood out to him. He said, “this experience is pushing me to be the best version of me and step outside my comfort zone.”

Adam is already thinking about how he and USCC can continue challenging themselves to be even more involved in IMTA and ways to stay up to date on the issues impacting the industry.

We look forward to hearing more about his next sessions throughout 2022 and the impact this opportunity will have on him and Clickstop!
