Q4 Responsible Award Winner: Cooper Smith

Even when he doesn’t have the answer, Cooper Smith is honest about his strengths and knowledge and will make sure he gets back to you.

Cooper is an IT Hardware Specialist on Clickstop’s Technology Team and has been with us for almost five years. In Q4, his coworkers nominated him for one of our quarterly awards because of his reliability and trustworthiness.

His awareness of how he impacts others is only part of the reason he is the winner of Clickstop’s Q4 Responsible Award.

Here are a few things his nominators had to say:

“Cooper was a great listener and asked a lot of thoughtful questions to ensure he fully understood the problem and made sure my struggles were heard. I often tell him how I simply defer to his expertise, and he still takes the time to articulate what he is doing to take action. He is concise, articulate, and informative in his instruction and makes sure there are no surprises.”

“Cooper is certainly someone that comes to mind when I think of someone who is reliable and honest.  He has an honest awareness of himself and his strengths and opportunities.  Cooper always has a positive attitude. Even if he doesn’t know the answer, Cooper will always follow up with what he is able to learn.”

Getting to Know Cooper Smith

What was your most meaningful accomplishment in Q4?

Learning more about how to build out the Clean Laundry technology packages that are sent to stores. Scott has allowed me to build a few on my own, and it has been a fun learning opportunity.

What is one area where you have been seeking growth and how have you been taking action on it?

Being decisive. Sometimes, there are many different ways to reach a goal and I have been reminding myself that at a certain point it’s important to make a decision, evaluate the outcome, then learn from it. Overthinking can ultimately be the thing that is holding you back.

With this recognition, it’s clear you are challenging us. How do you want to challenge Clickstop in the future?

I want to keep pushing the boundaries of my role and what can be done within it. I also plan to keep asking challenging questions that I think of, rather than keeping them to myself. Usually, the hard questions are the ones that need to be asked.

How has the Clickstop Code impacted you personally and/or professionally?

The Clickstop Code is a recipe for success. I believe it has helped me become a better worker and better person. Whenever I am looking for ways to improve myself or the work that I do, I can look to the code and pick out something to get better at.

What word or phrase do you hope describes the growth and impact you will make in 2022?

Rockstar. The Technology Hardware Team has a lot of work to navigate through in 2022 and it will be my most challenging, but exciting year yet.

Tell us about someone who inspires you to be the best version of yourself.

My parents. They have always told me that I can be whatever/whoever I want to be and that has made a large impact on how I live my life day to day.

What advice do you have for new Clickstoppers seeking to make an impact?

Be courageous. Don’t be afraid to say what you think or ask questions. It’s essential to growing both personally and professionally and will help you in the long run.
