Q3 2018 Safety Advocate
Policies and procedures are a part of establishing a culture of safety. They don’t always get the applause they deserve, and occasionally, get minimized as an expectation within one’s job. Their importance, however, demands that accountability to the expectation is provided. We want people to return home at the end of the day with their health in an equal or better state than when they departed.
Protecting Our Most Important Resource
Joe Clapp gets safety and isn’t shy about identifying areas of improvement while recommending a different approach or solution. In a recent first aid training, he recognized an opportunity to better equip Clickstop’s Emergency Response Team. CERT seeks expert level training to deliver specialized services in emergency response situations. The expertise was further developed through Joe’s input.
Day to day, Joe engages in work that involves risk. Whether he’s picking orders, preparing LTL shipments, down stocking or supporting other warehouse functions, it’s imperative that he works safely. Failing to do so increases the risk of harm for himself and others. Holding himself and his teammates accountable to safe practices helps us achieve our business goals while caring for our most important resource: our people.
We are pleased to present Joe Clapp with our Q3 2018 Safety Advocate Award. Well done, Joe!
